As seen on Project Runway, FABSCRAP recycles overstock, deadstock, and unused fabric samples from designers, fashion headquarters, and cutting rooms in New York City. Otherwise destined for landfill, FABSCRAP gives this material a second life, helping companies reduce their production waste and providing a sustainable alternative for buyers. Prior to launching FABSCRAP, Founder Jessica Schreiber worked for the New York City Department of Sanitation as a Senior Manager in the Bureau of Recycling and Sustainability. She helped launch and then managed the City's e-waste and clothing recycling contracts, including re-fashioNYC (a residential clothing reuse program which recycled over 6 million pounds of clothing) and NYC's first ever curbside clothing collection pilot. Now she works with Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Maiyet, Eileen Fisher, Mara Hoffman, Nautica, Steven Alan, and other "fab" brands on the textile waste problem in the industry.
